About Charles Bristow, the man behind the lens……..
Charles Bristow’s love affair with photography began in his formative years of Middle School as an amateur photographer for the 4H Club. Fascinated by the technical “magic of film and darkroom” Charles spent hours mastering the technical aspects of photography and in the process fell in love with the art form.
As a result of his early passion for the art of imagery, he further mastered his craft as a Freelance Photographer while a student at South Carolina State University, photographing countless athletic events and student portraits.
After obtaining a Bachelors of Science degree at the University, he continued to work in the photographic arena providing images for families, fashion, children and weddings. Remaining true to his craft and skill, Charles has been photographing weddings for decades and considers it to be one of the highest honors to be requested to capture such a auspicious moment in a family’s life. Charles is a photojournalist in the sense that he strives to inconspicuously capture the story of Your Day through his images. He views weddings as unique because they are so full of wonderful and full of unexpected moments. Charles thrives on the challenge of finding those special moments and capturing them without disturbing the privacy of the moment.
During recent years, he has expanded his portfolio to include photographing some major Fashion Events to include : DC Fashion Week, Northern VA Fashion Week, Charlotte Seen Fashion Week, Charlotte NC Fashion Week, Charleston Fashion Week and Hautelanta Fashion Week as well as worked for numerous Designers. He loves the runway and the demand of creativity it takes to capture a design for a Designer.
In addition to weddings, Charles’ portraiture also includes Executives, Fashion, Seniors, Families, Athletic and special events.
